STREET FIGHTING ENTREPRENEURSHIP

SFE was the flagship curriculum for the CASEWORX platform. We developed a comprehensive series of case-cased, interactive video modules to guide a learner from the idea to exit stages of entrepreneurship. Spanning the globe and focusing a a diverse array of founders and businesses, learners made high-stakes decisions about the course of the ventures in the stories. These decisions were recorded for educator evaluation, and ancillary tools allowed students to map out their own company ideas. At its height, SFE was working in over 30 higher education institutions across North America, and won the 2017 Milken-Penn Award for excellence in education.

CALGROWS/FUTURO HEALTH

As part of a 2-year project with the California Dept. of Aging’s CalGROWS project, Airy Disc developed 30 animated scenarios to help front-line healthcare workers grapple with the stressors in their roles. From family care workers to peer addiction specialists, front-line health workers face the brunt of the emotional toil required to help society’s most vulnerable. This series was embedded in existing Futuro curricula to give voice to the common challenges these workers face, and help them practice their interpersonal communication, executive decision skills, and cultural competency.

This segment is from “The Hong Family,” a series developed to help home care providers navigate the challenges of caring for a terminally ill family member.

MUSIC MENTOR

Before an LX can be built, a lot of work goes into being confident that we’re building the right thing. When Airy Disc is working for a client, we routinely use hypothesis testing, market research, and learner discovery to develop core documents like a persona, value prop breakdown, product design epic, user stories, competitive matrix, and other tools. All of this happens before building. This “strawman” for a project around mentorship in the music business is a good example of curricular pre-work that we can do for a clients trying to figure out what they should build for their audience.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

In early 2020, California Community College wanted to build a fun, interactive set of learning scenarios for their Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism (RHT) sector, spanning across many of their 116 campuses. Then, COVID happened. In a matter of weeks, our learning designers rebuilt a live-action curriculum into an animated, Jetsons-styled program to help learners make decisions around hygiene, customer service, and business operations.

CUBE FOR CONFLICT

Saturn Leadership wanted to grow their successful CUBE for Conflict curriculum around difficult conversations, but to do so required additional coaches, travel, accommodations, and other logistical expenses. At CASEWORX, we worked to narrativize the curriculum into an interactive-decision series, helping learners make tough communication choices in high-conflict, emotional scenarios. What’s more, Saturn coaches break down the scenarios to help isolate the right and wrong way to approaches areas of conflict at work. CUBE for Conflict exists today in Saturn’s online communication and leadership toolkit.

THE PROSPERITY AGENDA

Spokane-based non-profit The Prosperity Agenda wanted to make an inaugural curriculum for their family-coaching programs. CASEWORX’s focus on interactive, emotional decision-making aligned perfectly with their mission to empower families to become financially independent while using goal-setting as a tool to map their futures. The curriculum we co-designed showcased the many use cases that coaches at The Prosperity Agenda will face as they intervene in the lives of their clients.

AUTO DESIGN & SKETCHING

Los Angeles’ Petersen Automotive Museum is world-renowned for its collection of classic cars, motorcycles, and other specialized vehicles. It’s an incredible monument to modern transportation, but museum staff wanted to find a way for its young people to stay engaged after their visit. Yellowbrick worked with Petersen to develop a free, casual online course where young people could not only learn about some of the coolest cars in history, but also learn draw them. The course was a huge success, reaching over 10K signups in less than 3 months.
